ABOUT US

“UP SFS x MCM” is an upcycling project that launched in September 2020. It started off with around nine members of a school club called CAWS. Now, it has grown to have the whole SFS community take part.

At CAWS, we strive to transcend conventional service and take genuine action. One of our projects, “UP SFS x MCM”, involves upcycling defect products from MCM, a luxury brand based in Korea who have donated a total of 1000 pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories to our club. Our goal is to upcycle and sell these goods to parents, teachers, and students of the SFS community and donate all proceeds to orphanages and childcare centers around Seoul. All proceeds will be donated to a childcare facility center in Songpa-gu called the Bright Future Childcare Center, Sungjoo Foundation for Women's Education, and SFS.

Due to the sheer amount of donated products, we decided to involve grades from the entire school and help us design these pieces for charity during their art classes or perhaps even from home. Once we collected these, we would sell them back to the SFS community to be donated for the causes above.

We believe that this collective mindset epitomizes our goal with this project - to unite and give opportunities for those who would otherwise be left in the dark. We strive to practice what we preach, and take a step beyond our norms.
